Cuttlefish
Cuttlefish or cuttles are marine molluscs of the order Sepiida. They belong to the class Cephalopoda, which also includes squid, octopuses, and nautiluses. Cuttlefish have large, W-shaped pupils, eight arms, and two tentacles furnished with denticulated suckers, with which they secure their prey.
Description
An underrated relation of squid and octopus and similar in taste, it is also known as the ink fish. Cuttlefish have a large head with a bone-like structure, small tentacles and contain copious amounts of black ink that is harvested for use in pasta and risotto.
Most Cuttlefish landed in the EU is sent directly to France and Spain due to high demand, opposed to being sold in the UK. However, when available it is always very reasonable in price!
